We've got more: 10+ residents got $250k+ in grants from Emergent Ventures, Merge Grants and others. 3 people from cohort 7 got into EF. Total money raised by the residency companies in India is over $5m. Total valuation of the residency companies worldwide is over $600m. We've had people from Canada, USA and Switzerland join us here in Bangalore for this program.
A common misconception is that we only look for people in tech, we do not. What we look for are people willing to take on hard problems, in any domain, with the agency to actually pursue them. You could be a creative, an artist, an engineer, a scientist, or a researcher. What matters is the seriousness with which you approach the work. Many residents come in with different skill sets and often end up collaborating across domains or working on entirely different problems during the cohort. We have seen this happen multiple times.
When in doubt, apply!, we are all winging it.
